TELKARI

              "Telkari has been composed of the words of’Tel’ and ‘Kar’and it means the work and art of string.It has been documanted as this Art has been practised in 3000(B.C) in Mesopotamia and in 2500(B.C) in Anatolia.The manufacturing of the string is as ‘Hasır Örgü’( known as Trabzon Art-Cane Work)

      In this work of Art the stringgs between 40 and 200 micron are used. These products have been manufactured in two types .They can be manufactured by 1000 carats silver or copper .The products which are made by Copper are covered by silver in last stage. In art of Telkari the strings are not used in round cut shaped.
                                            
        In order to fill the Traditional Motifs two strings in 40 microns are smashed in a cylinder after twisting by this way a flat spring which edges are like caterpillar is accessed.And the motifs which will compose the shape is all handmade .and their ends and necessary parts are connected by welding proccess.When enough motifs are made they are gathered according to the traditional composing.


       The inside of the Motifs and their spaces between them are filled by stuffing strings .And the Traditional Motifs and the Stuffings between the spaces are connected by welding proccess and after this the last shape of the product has been made.In Art of Telkari the products are in wide range and different kinds of motfs can be practised
